Panchkula witnessed a lot of voltage problem on Wednesday night. Residents alleged that their appliances too got spoilt because of the frequent fluctuations and low voltage problem.

PANCHKULA: Panchkula witnessed a lot of voltage problem on Wednesday night. Residents alleged that their appliances too got spoilt because of the frequent fluctuations and low voltage problem. Sectors 2,4,6,7,8,9,21,25,17,19,20 witnessed these problems.
"Our invertor has also stopped working. In one minute, it fluctuated around half a dozen times. And invertor does not work in a low voltage situation.

It is very hard to bear these problems in summers," said Radhika Bhalla, a resident of sector-7,Panchkula.
Vishnu Goel, a resident of sector-21,Panchkula said, " Will the electricity department pay for the appliances that have been spoilt due to the voltage problem."
" It is quite difficult to have such problems and that too during working days. As due to the voltage and fluctuation problem, our fridge had to be repaired. The electricity department is turning a blind eye to the residents' problems," said Falak Garg, a resident of sector-2,Panchkula.
The township was till now reeling under power cuts but has now started facing the voltage problem.
When contacted the Sub Divisional Officer(SDO) of the Panchkula electricity department, " There was a technical fault in some sectors resulting which the fluctuation and low voltage problem was taking place. But the same has been corrected now and no such problem will take place."
